There are 5 wandering beekeeper hives located around the Binscombe area of Godalming. Surrey. I also have bee hives in southern Sweden,

The bees in Surrey are a cross between Apis mellifera mellifera and Buckfast. This mix of bee can tolerate the British climate and are calm and gentle.

The beekeeping year starts in Spring. Weekly hive inspections are carried out between early spring and autumn.  Colonies build up as plants and trees come into flower. The swarm season is from April to the end of June during which time the hives are closely monitored. Honey is harvested from July and by the end of August the harvesting season ends. Bees are fed over winter and checked regularly.

I am passionate about living as naturally as possible and extend this to caring for my bees. No chemicals are used in the hives and the bees are left with their own honey to eat over the winter period rather than fed an artificial diet.
